Our Philosophy

We created Sol to break the mold of consulting and traditional staffing. Our Philosophy is partnership, where we help our clients advance their goals both through advising and doing.

We only recommend projects we can implement with our talent bench or with our preferred implementation partners. We see ourselves as your partners from concept to completion.

Professionals thrive and deliver excellence when we take care of them, so we take care of their needs so they can focus on yours. We use seasoned people in a flat, efficient workforce without managing junior staff. That keeps our people focused on your project, not our staff development.

We provide transparent, industry-leading pricing tailored to each client’s needs, using optimally sized teams to deliver advisory and talent services without unnecessary overhead or rigid structures.

We can manage or co-manage staff resources with you, or you can take ownership. We can launch new initiatives or help you fix broken developments mid-stream. Our people are available to work fully remote, hybrid, or on-site to suit your needs and budget.

While our specialty is wholesale technology transformations, we also take on smaller efficiency projects, system migrations and consolidations, CRM/ERP implementations, and other technology updates. Whether your business needs evolution or revolution, Sol is your partner in progress.

Ready to move your projects from vision to completion?

Carl Graves
Managing Partner

As Managing Partner of Sol Consulting, Carl Graves charts the firm’s strategic path from boutique consultancy to mid-market presence in corporate advisory and technology transformation. Beyond strategy, he orchestrates Sol’s entire operational foundation: talent development, financial stewardship, technology infrastructure, and legal framework.

Carl’s 30-year business career reflects a commitment to operational excellence and scalable growth. Over 26 years in executive leadership—as CFO, Founder, and President—he has repeatedly transformed ambitious tech service startups into industry-recognized players.

His track record speaks for itself: As President of Rizing, an SAP services provider, Carl architected growth from a startup to a powerhouse, scaling the organization to 1,500+ employees and nearly $250 million in annual revenue. He orchestrated 10 M&A integrations along the way, culminating in Rizing’s successful acquisition by WIPRO. This achievement mirrored his earlier success as CFO of Genesis Solutions, an IBM Maximo Services Partner, where he applied the same growth-focused discipline.

A former Navy Lieutenant and later investment banker, Carl now splits his time between seaside towns in Massachusetts and Florida, where he lives with his wife Julia and their two college-age daughters. A strong proponent of education, Carl serves on local school boards & committees, but he makes time for fun too: golfing, cooking, wake surfing, or investing in early-stage companies – which, yes, is “fun” too.

Chris also stays active with strength training and running, and when he’s not volunteering at his wife’s school reading to kids or providing tech support, he’s usually at the beach with his family.

Karin Drucker
Head of Recruiting

Karin Marvin-Drucker’s goal as Sol’s Head of Recruiting is to score the win-wins: Great job candidates win when they advance in their careers to meaningful and challenging work, and Sol’s clients win when their projects are in great hands.

Karin’s career has centered on recruiting for technology teams, but she has spent her time in an unusual place: the startup tucked inside the giant. From staffing Ziff Davis’s first internet business to Google’s first team of NYC-based engineers, she thrives in scrappy growth organizations that aren’t overly bureaucratic. Most recently, she led recruiting for McKinsey Solutions, the consulting giant’s own internal tech consulting group. Her long tenures and avoidance of agency recruiting have allowed her to watch the talent she has hired grow and flourish.

Karin is also a certified executive coach, partnering with leaders to navigate transitions, sharpen their impact, and build teams that last. She lives in South Florida with her husband, David, and their West Highland White Terrier, Max.  However, she often returns to her original and spiritual home: New York City. An avid reader, you’ll find her travelling the world with a book in tow, whether on the quiet beaches of Anguilla or a long-haul flight to Angkor Wat.

Michael Hines
Head of Marketing & Comms

Michael Hines oversees Sol’s marketing and communications. In this role, he is responsible for the company website and branding, our blog, the internal newsletter, client communications, and other client engagement. He also works closely with other company leaders to help develop Sol’s culture, community engagement, and internal programming.

Michael brings a research background to Sol, following 15 years at Inferential Focus, a boutique consulting firm that conducts research on global economic, political, technological, and cultural change. In that role, he wrote or edited over 1,000 client distributions on current trends. In his final years, he served as the company’s head of client engagement. He has also worked as a freelance writer, specializing in sustainability, healthcare, and technology.

Originally from Boston, Michael has spent the last 20 years in New York City. He lives with his partner, Henry, who together enjoy the city’s iconic cultural options from opera and Broadway to pop concerts and dance music festivals. When not home in Brooklyn, you could find Michael literally anywhere, adding to the collection of 71 countries and 50 U.S. states he has visited.
